John Bruno
John Bruno has an extensive background in the corporate real estate practice and the workplace in the high technology industry in Silicon Valley. He is currently the Vice President of Global Real Estate, the Workplace and Safety for Workday, Inc. This is the similar role that he held with Yahoo, Cadence Design Systems, Inc., and Sybase Corporation.
In 2015 John was recognized by CORENET GLOBAL as the Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year. In 2016 John engineered for Yahoo the sale of a fully entitled fifty acre site which was the most expensive real estate land transaction in Silicon Valley that year. John earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Santa Clara University. He was a founding Board Member for the Housing Trust of Silicon Valley and a twenty year member of the Board of Directors for Technology Credit Union. John and his wife Mary, live in their hometown of San Francisco where their two grown children also reside.
Terry Dollard
Terry Dollard was introduced to the PRRC by her father, Ed Dollard, when she was in high school, taking advantage of the many volunteering opportunities. Her father is still involved in the center. Terry graduated from USF School of Nursing and after 19 years as a Critical Care Nurse, now serves as Hospital Supervisor at UCSF Medical Center. Terry enjoys sailing, hiking, swimming, and painting. In addition to PRRC, she supports On Your Feet Foundation which offers support, both financial and emotional, to women who have placed their children for adoption. She lives in Pacifica with her wife, Kris Kealey, and their two sons Luke and Dylan. The thing that Terry enjoys the most at the PRRC is the sense of happiness and belonging that everyone feels when they arrive

Dr. Deb Franzon Frederick
Dr Deb Franzon Frederick has worked in Pediatrics for 20 years, including being Medical Director of the 24 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit before joining the faculty at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in 2016. In her daily clinical work, Dr. Franzon encounters many children with physical and developmental disabilities and cares deeply about optimizing quality of life for these patients with complex needs. She is thrilled to serve on the Pomeroy Board and hopes to find synergistic ways to enhance the availability and visibility of community resources like the Pomeroy Center as well and bridge the continuum of health from home to community for individuals with special needs. What Deb loves most about the Pomeroy are the happy faces, genuine interactions, and examples everywhere of “making the impossible possible.”

Claudia Jung
Claudia Jung works as a Cancer Data Specialist in San Francisco. She has a MS in Vocational Rehabilitation/MFC from San Francisco State University. She is from the Central Valley of California. She has experience working with many kinds of disabling conditions & their functional limitations but prefers to focus on individual capabilities, talents & strengths. She loves the personal choice aspect of the PRRC’s programs, the attention to the range of needs of participants by the outstanding staff & greatly looks forward to assisting in guiding existing & upcoming programs that are supportive over a lifetime. She has also worked in online retail & marketing, advocacy for disabled individuals, administrative support, crisis management, desktop publishing, event production & technical writing. She is currently taking coursework in Deep Learning & Ethics in Applied Data with specific focus on medical data at USF’s Data Institute, in an effort to democratize this fast growing aspect of technology.
Matthew Miller
Most recent past Board Chair of PRRC, Matthew Miller is a litigation partner at DLA Piper and concentrates his practice on complex business and employment disputes often involving unfair competition, intentional business interference torts and trade secret misappropriation claims. Miller further litigates matters involving digital currency and blockchain. A fourth-generation native San Franciscan, Miller served as Director and Executive Committee member of The Society of California Pioneers and the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Alumni Board. Miller is a proud alum of Georgetown University Law Center and UCLA.
Matthew most loves attending Center-wide events in which the Board can truly interact with PRRC clients—it’s for these incredible clients that the Board truly works and the smiles, laughs and handshakes or hugs from clients makes Board service its own reward. In his spare time, Matthew plays golf poorly, bikes, vacations in Tahoe and Yosemite and spends as much time as possible with his wife Tanya and daughters Dory and Grace.
Scott E. Miller
Scott E. Miller is a Principal with Scott Miller Executive Search, a national firm founded in January 2009 specializing in education and nonprofit sectors with a focus on diversity. He has more than 30 years experience with leading retained executive search firms, providing executive-level professional services and serving in the public sector. Prior to his own firm, Scott was a Client Partner with Korn/Ferry International.
Scott is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He is passionate about the work of the Pomeroy Center because of the positive impact the organization has on all the lives it touches. Scott also serves as the Board Chair of The Bread Project. He lives in San Francisco with his partner, Doug Piper, and their Miniature Schnauzer, Mason. Linked-In
Tanya Peterson
Tanya McVeigh Peterson, J.D. is CEO and Executive Director of the San Francisco Zoological Society, the non-profit entity that operates and supports “San Francisco Zoo & Gardens” on behalf of the City and County of San Francisco. In her role as CEO, Tanya has led two multi-million capital campaigns, oversees 200 employees, and works with a 50-person Board of Trustees. Ms. Peterson has served in this role since 2008. In 2015, she was asked by the Mayor of San Francisco to co chair the Centennial City Hall Celebration of San Francisco, and in 2016, she was the Congressional Honoree of the 2016 Women’s History Month. She also has a “Tanya Peterson Day” in San Francisco, recognizing her decade-long leadership.
Ms. Peterson’s undergraduate studies were at Smith College and University of Southern California, the latter from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1988. Her law degree is from U.C. Hastings College of Law (1991). She was born in Manchester, England, but most of her childhood was spent in Southern California, USA. Ms. Peterson currently resides in San Francisco with her two children.
Phillip Shamlian
Phill was born in San Francisco; educated in the public school system (West Portal, Herbert Hoover); spent two years in private school (Lick Wilmerding) then returned to public school at Abraham Lincoln. His further education was from City College of San Francisco and SF State. He grew up in the paint business in his father’s store and started to work there at the age of 15. Phill studied Broadcast Communication in school with an intent to continue it as a career. He was still working part-time in the paint business. Family circumstances required him to work full-time so he made the paint business his career. He closed his business primarily as a consequence of his daughter Taleen’s birth and medical condition. His father’s business foresight gave him the means to continue economically as his family navigated the Special Ed school system, advocacy groups, and State-sponsored support. In the meanwhile, Taleen had a myriad of medical issues that required visits to the ER, major surgeries, and consistent attention. He has been fortunate that the good medical professionals have outnumbered the bad ones so far. He has served on the board of Support for Families of Children with Disabilities in San Francisco as well as the Special Education Action Committee in Marin County.
Through all the difficulties Taleen has had to endure, the Pomeroy Center has been instrumental in her continued positive development. Through Board membership, he only wants to give back as much as she has received.
Wendy Suhr
Wendy Suhr has worked as a homeland security consultant for more than 15 years, focusing on improving emergency response for natural disasters and terrorist events. She is employed by the Willdan Group, Inc. and also runs her own consulting firm, Suhr Consulting Group LLC. She is an alumna of the University of Arizona, where she earned a BA in Sociology and a Masters in Public Health. She is passionate about PRRC, where she loves all the positive, smiling faces; she also supports animal welfare causes and promotes animal adoption. Her hobbies include shark diving, travel, wine tasting and cooking. She lives in San Francisco with her husband Greg Suhr, former San Francisco Chief of Police.
