Integrated Work Services

This is a unique community integration program, using a holistic approach in providing training and
experience through a full spectrum of activities including vocational, social, recreational and
educational opportunities for adults with disabilities. Staff to consumer ratio is 1:3, with
consumers spending an average of thirty hours per week in program. Each individual is supported by
a network made up of family members, caregivers, and team professionals, working in collaboration
with the Janet Pomeroy Center to ensure individual success.
A Janet Pomeroy Center staff member works with individuals in planning weekly activities, focusing
on learning skills to become as independent as possible in accessing a variety of resources
available in their neighborhood and community. Opportunities include developing social skills,
friendships, and meaningful relationships, independent skills training, accessing courses and
varied resources in the community, volunteering in positions of interest, planning
recreational/leisure outings, and employment cultivated from individual interests and skills.
