Brainstorm Program

Brainstorm is a unique, social recreation and community integration program that serves adults age 22 to 65
who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury. A diverse selection of classes are provided to assist
participants in the process of developing or relearning valuable skills needed to function as independently
as possible in the community. The program activities provide opportunities for individuals to increase
skills in the following areas: leisure education; fitness and health; creative and expressive arts;
independent living, cognition and memory; and vocational and volunteer skills.
Brainstorm programs are offered on Mondays from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and on Tuesday and Thursdays from 1:00
to 5:00pm. By being involved with other people who have gone through similar accidents, illnesses, or
surgeries, participants realize they are not the only person in the world who has to deal with an acquired
cognitive, physical, emotional or social challenges. Participants learn from each other, support each
other, and accept and help one another. Brainstorm provides a safe, friendly, supportive environment,
offering a place of belonging and acceptance for adults with acquired brain injuries.
